 Overseer Gregory L. Goner born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on January 11, 1971 to George Holmes and Velma Goner has been a blessing to many individuals across the country. Husband to Catina A. Goner who serves as Co-Pastor, and proud father of five children, two biological daughters Gabrielle and Janiyah, and three foster children Chauncey, Curtis, and Willie. Overseer has always possessed an array of knowledge and wisdom in his personal, professional, and spiritual life. Accepting God as his personal savior in the year of 1986, God has always allowed him to display wisdom within the ministry. Serving faithfully, in the Bethesda Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Robert L. Sims God called him to preach and later pastor.
Currently the Senior Pastor, Founder, and Organizer of Spirit Governed Church and Ministries of Milwaukee, Wisconsin since its birth in 1993, God has allowed him to equip and lead a mass of people who’s desire is to populate the Kingdom of God through the concept of “Meeting People Where They Are.” Having the heart of God and desiring to help people of all cultures, creeds, and nationalities God inspired Overseer Goner to birth the Gregory L. Goner Youth Foundation an entity that focuses on improving the lives of the youth of today’s generation. Through many efforts, the foundation has and continues to administer a Summer Meal Program, Mentoring and Tutoring Program, and the David Leflore Scholarship Fund.
One of the foundations greatest accomplishments is the birthing of Excel Academy School and Loving a Generation Childcare. Excel Academy is a choice school that educates inner-city children from grades K5 to 12th grade where Overseer serves as Founder and Chief Executive Officer. Overseer Goner believes through his educational experiences within Milwaukee Public School system that an educational institution was needed which displayed the concept that “Every Child Matters,” which is the current mission of school. Realizing the importance of education Overseer Goner enrolled at Agape Love Bible College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin accredited by Grace Theological Seminary Loris, SC earning his Bachelors of Theology degree in August of 2007.
Through the leadership and charisma of Overseer Goner, God has allowed him to preach and teach in various churches around the country. As an affiliate of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International, God has favored him to be a participant of the Full Gospel Baptist Church International Conference, which aired on the Word Network in 2006. Being a recipient of God’s favor, he has also preached for the Illinois Judah District Conference where hundreds witnessed the miraculous power of God through Overseer Goner. Serving as a District Overseer in the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship faithfully, God favored Overseer Goner to the promotion of State Overseer of Wisconsin.
A chosen man for today’s generation who demonstrates the power and reverence of the Almighty God simply defines Overseer Gregory L. Goner and his leadership. With the heart of God prevalent in his life, and the calling that God has given him thousands upon thousands will experience the ministry gifts that rest upon the life of this man. Eyes have not seen nor ears heard the great things that God has in store for them that love Him and are called according to his purpose. Many are called but few are chosen, Overseer Gregory L.
