Welcome to Spirit Governed Church & Ministries! Spirit Governed is a Baptist oriented church, located in the central city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, organized and founded on June 13, 1993 by Senior Pastor Gregory L. Goner.

Since the birth of Spirit Governed our mission is mandated as “Meeting People Where They Are.” We believe that God has positioned our ministry in this day and time to reach out to those who are lost and provide guidance, hope, restoration, and life-changing experiences through Jesus Christ.

We believe in the full operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and representation of HIS excellence. As an affiliate of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship, God has allowed his spirit to flow freely within the services of Spirit Governed and the lives of all those who attend.

With the vision to meet the total needs of mankind God has allowed a plethora of ministries to be birthed impacting the community of Milwaukee. Spirit Governed administrates Excel Academy School (K5-12th grade), Loving-A-Generation Childcare, The Gregory L. Goner Youth Foundation, Summer Food Outreach Program, Helping Hands Food Pantry, and a wide array of other ministries. Through these ministries the church has been able to reach the needs of the community.

Spirit Governed is the vibrant home of members from all walks of life of the Milwaukee area. It currently represents these percentiles:

• 96% African American
• 3% Hispanic
• 1% Other

Men currently represent 30% of the total congregation, which is unusual for a minority church of today’s generation. Also, 80% of the church has a large population of youth and young adults within the age range of 18-40 years old.
